Understand the components

Prepare maintenance access
AHUs need access for the tasks actually required: inspection, filter changes, cleaning, component work and relevant checks. Identify roof or plant-room access, working space and the effect of interruption before arranging the visit.
Record the unit and component references, work completed, findings and follow-on actions. A service report should make clear whether a filter was changed, a defect was identified or a further investigation is needed. Those outcomes have different next steps.
Check performance after changes
Replacing a component or changing controls can affect how the unit operates with the rest of the system. Include the appropriate functional checks and update settings or records where necessary. Wider distribution changes can also need air balancing.
