The Group framework is controlled by David Swaddle. Black & White Group is not a company, incorporated organisation or separate legal entity. It does not trade, employ people, provide services, enter contracts, issue quotations, hold insurance, own business-specific accreditations or act as a data controller.
Our purpose
The Group exists to:
- protect and develop the Black & White brand;
- maintain consistent governance, ethical and operating standards;
- provide shared policies and minimum controls;
- coordinate brand, digital, assurance and information architecture;
- support responsible collaboration between Participating Businesses;
- establish reliable evidence and document-control standards; and
- prevent duplication, inconsistency and unsupported claims.
Participating Businesses
A Participating Business is a legally distinct business authorised to use the Black & White brand. Authorisation is recorded within the Group governance system and may be granted, restricted, suspended or withdrawn.
Every Participating Business must:
- state its own legal identity clearly;
- take responsibility for its contracts, services, people and supply chain;
- maintain its own statutory, tax, insurance and regulatory records;
- adopt applicable Group standards formally;
- maintain additional business-specific controls where required;
- publish only accurate and attributable claims; and
- avoid implying that another Participating Business guarantees its obligations.
Legal and commercial responsibility
Customers and suppliers contract only with the legal business identified in the applicable quotation, order, agreement or terms. Use of the Black & White name, visual identity or Group documents does not make Black & White Group a party to that relationship.
Insurance, licences, certifications, memberships, qualifications, case studies and experience belong only to the business or person identified in the supporting evidence. They are not transferred through participation in the Group.
Governance
David Swaddle, Founder:
- controls the Group framework and brand;
- approves Group policies and standards;
- authorises Participating Businesses;
- oversees document control and annual review;
- may require evidence of implementation; and
- may restrict or withdraw authorisation following serious or repeated non-compliance.
Each Participating Business appoints its own responsible people and remains accountable for operational implementation.
Policy adoption
Group documents establish common minimum standards. A Participating Business adopts each applicable document through a controlled adoption record. Adoption takes effect on the date recorded by that business.
Where the law, a contract, a regulator or the nature of a service requires a business-specific policy or procedure, the Participating Business maintains that additional document in its own name. A business-specific document may strengthen a Group standard but must not weaken it without recorded approval and a lawful justification.
Communications
Black & White Group has no public office, telephone number or email address and does not receive enquiries. All communications must be sent to the relevant Participating Business using the details displayed on its website, quotation, contract or legal notice.
