Buried Water-Pipe Repair and Reinstatement in Blyth
Black & White Property Services repaired a buried water pipe at a residential property in Blyth in June 2024. The work required access through a concrete floor and the removal and reinstatement of kitchen fittings around the repair area.

The challenge
A leak had been reported beneath the floor near the stopcock. Once exposed, the copper pipe was found to have corroded where it had been in direct contact with concrete.
The repair required more than replacing a visible fitting. The team needed to isolate the supply, open the floor, gain access around the kitchen units and restore the surrounding area after the pipework was repaired.
Work completed
The water supply was isolated from the street and the concrete opened to expose the affected pipe. The sink and base unit were removed for access.
The damaged copper section was replaced with a correctly sheathed section, separating the new pipe from direct contact with the surrounding concrete.
The opening was refilled and concreted. The kitchen cabinet and sink were reinstated, the plumbing reconnected and the completed repair tested.
Result
The completed water-pipe repair was tested following reinstatement. The concrete, cabinet, sink and plumbing connections were restored as part of the same scope, bringing the access work and the repair through to a usable finish.
