Power Restoration at a Residential Park
Black & White Property Services investigated a loss of power at a residential park. The work covered fault finding, isolation of a damaged cable section and changes to the supply arrangement to restore power to occupied plots.

The challenge
The plots were connected through a looped electrical supply. Initial investigation found a short circuit affecting the supply, requiring further testing to establish where the fault lay within the connected plots.
The team needed to separate the faulty section from the working installation while restoring supply to the occupied plots.
Work completed
Sectional testing traced the fault to a cable between two plot enclosures. The damaged section was disconnected, the outgoing supply rerouted and the associated meter relocated into the working enclosure.
The original enclosure supply was isolated and made safe. Further checks confirmed the working sections of the supply, and power was restored to the occupied plots.
Result
The faulty cable section was identified and isolated, and power was restored to the occupied plots.
The report recommended permanent replacement of the damaged cable when required, review of cable routes affected by groundworks and a full Electrical Installation Condition Report for the site. These recommendations remained follow-on work beyond the immediate power restoration.
