Chimney Leadwork and Roof Repairs in Blyth
Black & White Property Services completed chimney and associated roof repairs at a residential property in Blyth in August 2024. Arranged through a property-management company, the work combined replacement leadwork, local repointing and gutter clearance.
The challenge
The repair scope covered the junction between the chimney and the adjoining roof. Existing cement fillets needed removal across six sides of the chimney, with tiles around the chimney opened up to allow the new lead details to be fitted.
Access was required from both sides of the property, so tower access formed part of the agreed works.
Work completed
The team stripped out tiles around the chimney and removed the existing sand-and-cement fillets. New lead front aprons and stepped flashings were then fitted around the chimney.
Local repointing addressed the areas identified within the same repair scope. Gutters on both sides were cleared as part of the associated roof maintenance.
Bringing the leadwork, pointing and gutter clearance together allowed the specified chimney-junction repairs and adjoining maintenance to be completed within one package.
Result
The agreed works were completed, replacing the existing cement details with lead aprons and stepped flashings and completing the associated pointing and gutter clearance.
