Retail Opening Support at Eldon Square, Newcastle
Black & White Property Services supported a jewellery retailer preparing to open at Eldon Square in Newcastle. Delivered through a fit-out management company in June 2025, the work brought together stockroom installation, cleaning, equipment setup and temporary cooling across several urgent visits.
The challenge
Several practical tasks needed attention around the store opening. A cabinet had to reach an upper floor while the lift was unavailable, the stockroom needed a working bench, and the shop required a full clean before opening. Point-of-sale equipment and cooling also needed support.
Work completed
The team moved the cabinet upstairs using the emergency stairwell and supplied and fitted a stockroom benchtop with supporting legs and sealant.
An out-of-hours deep clean covered the entire store in preparation for opening. Further visits included setup of the point-of-sale equipment and network connection, followed by the supply and setup of two temporary air coolers.
These visits covered the practical tasks needed at different stages of the opening preparations, from moving equipment and installing a work surface to preparing the retail space for use.
Result
The opening-support tasks were completed across the separate attendances, including the stockroom installation, whole-store clean and equipment setup.
Temporary air coolers provided an interim measure while access was being arranged for investigation of the permanent heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system. That investigation remained a separate follow-on requirement.
