LED Lighting Repair at Thaikhun Metrocentre

Thaikhun at the Metrocentre reported failed lighting above a customer table and in another area of the restaurant. Black & White Property Services attended to diagnose the affected fittings and restore the lighting safely.

Tell us what needs doing

Two fittings were found to have defective lamps and were fitted with low-energy LED replacements. A separate older fluorescent fitting also required attention. Rather than reinstating the obsolete lamp arrangement, an LED-equivalent lamp was installed and the fitting's internal wiring was altered to bypass the existing ballast so the LED could operate correctly.

All affected fittings were tested following the repair and recorded as operational. The Works Report states that the lighting was left in safe working order with no further immediate work required.

Outcome

  1. Two defective lamps replaced with low-energy LED alternatives.
  2. Older fluorescent fitting adapted for an LED-equivalent lamp.
  3. Existing ballast bypassed as part of the fitting conversion.
  4. All affected lighting tested and recorded operational.
