Temporary Car Park Repairs in Backworth
Black & White Property Services completed temporary repairs across the tarmac and gravel parking areas at a veterinary site in Backworth. The work took place over two visits, using macadam for potholes in the tarmac and compacted Type 1 aggregate in the gravel areas.

The challenge
Potholes and sunken areas affected both parking surfaces, including the transition between the tarmac and gravel.
The repair scope covered local patching and infilling. A longer-term drainage and surfacing solution remained a separate requirement.
Work completed
On the first visit, the team square-cut two potholes in the main tarmac car park, filled them with macadam and compacted the repairs. Remaining macadam was used at two holes along the transition to the gravel area.
On the second visit, Type 1 aggregate was placed into the sunken areas beside the grass verge and compacted, with the edges straightened.
Further aggregate filled larger holes in the gravel car park and replenished the entrance where material had been lost. A small quantity was left on site for future minor infilling.
Result
The local holes and sunken areas received temporary patch repairs across the two parking surfaces.
The work provided interim surface repairs, with further maintenance anticipated. The underlying drainage requirement remained outside this repair package.
