Phased Overnight Repainting at a 24/7 Veterinary Site

Black & White Property Services delivered a substantial internal redecoration programme at Moorview, a continuously operating veterinary site. The work covered corridors, access routes and reception areas while maintaining the site's day-to-day operation.

The challenge

The building remained operational around the clock. Busy circulation areas had accumulated impact damage and general wear, including damaged plaster, holes, deteriorated finishes and worn door frames. The programme therefore needed to be phased and completed out of hours with careful coordination around staff, patients and access routes.

The approach

A two-person team was planned across an extended series of overnight shifts. The documented scope included:

  1. making good damaged plaster and filling surface defects;
  2. caulking and preparing walls and woodwork;
  3. improving worn door frames where practical;
  4. applying a three-coat eggshell finish;
  5. colour-matched glosswork where required;
  6. using access equipment for higher areas;
  7. completing corridors and reception in phases to minimise disruption.

The working programme allowed approximately 12–14 nights for corridors and access ways, followed by a further 5–7 nights for reception areas.

Operational delivery

The project required more than straightforward decorating. Each section had to be prepared, repaired and finished while preserving safe access through a live clinical environment. Overnight scheduling and phased handovers allowed the veterinary site to continue operating while the improvement programme progressed.

Result

The programme refreshed heavily used clinical circulation and reception spaces, repaired accumulated damage and provided a coordinated finish across multiple operational areas.

The completion record confirms that both reception areas, rear hallways and additional areas were painted. The available evidence supports the completed areas without making claims about quantified durability or operational savings.
