Commercial Heating and Hot-Water Replacement at a Gateshead Veterinary Hospital
The hospital needed a replacement system capable of serving its radiator load and hot-water demand. Work had to be coordinated around a live clinical environment, with access and temporary service interruptions agreed with site staff.
Our approach
The existing boiler, cylinder and associated components were removed before the new installation was set out against the retained building services. Black & White Property Services installed an Ideal EnviroMax 2 60kW commercial boiler, an Ideal pre-plumbed commercial cylinder and a commercial MagnaClean filtration unit. New and modified pipework connected the equipment to the existing system.
The supporting work included a purpose-made plywood backboard, a commercial-grade equipment platform, colour coding of existing gas pipework and protective finishing around rough edges. Removed equipment and waste were taken away through the agreed waste route.
Work completed
- Removed the former boiler, cylinder, associated pipework and components.
- Installed the 60kW commercial boiler, commercial cylinder and filtration unit.
- Adapted pipework and connections to suit the retained building services.
- Built the equipment support and completed protective finishing.
- Commissioned and functionally tested the installation.
- Gave the site representative an operational overview.
Result
The heating and hot-water system was operational following commissioning and functional testing, and the site representative received an operational handover.
