Plan access and coordination
Occupied rooms, alarm transmission, restricted areas and interfaces with other systems affect the visit. Agree who informs occupants and manages the site’s arrangements during testing. Define separate investigation or repairs where existing faults need additional work.
Compare the deliverables
Check the service scope, report, defect identification, attendance arrangements and exclusions. Replacement parts, remedial work and additional visits should have a clear authorisation route. The system’s maintenance requirements are established for the actual premises; a low-priced visit does not determine compliance.
Questions to resolve
Can two quotations cover different work?
Yes. Compare the system information supplied, tasks, access assumptions, reports, parts and remedial arrangements before comparing totals.
Does servicing include repairing every fault?
Only if the agreed scope says so. A report can identify defects requiring separately authorised remedial work.
